eBay tip of the day: How to do an appeal at eBay

If you have ever felt that you have been done wrong by eBay there is a certain way to go about it. The correct way is the business way, the wrong way is the emotional way.

Dont ever use this line: " I pay $2000 a month to eBay in fees, they should treat me different or give me a break." First eBay doesn't really treat ANY body different. I happen to know that even the biggest accounts, get restricted, items removed, suspended, everyday and they have to go through the same process as everyone else. Emotional appeals rarely work at eBay, main reason- they are highly regulated by a vast amount of committees, some government, as to what they can and can't do. If your only argument is an emotional, or special treatment then fugedaboudit.

Every appeal must be factual and to the point. These are more successful. Fact based is NOT, "Well I waited 5 weeks for the item and it never appeared so I gave him a negative and he gave me a negative and that is not fair...waaahh!!!" Doesnt work.

Fact based is: He left me a negative feedback that contains my home phone number." That can be removed.

Think before you put your appeal in: Is this factual or emotional. You will have a much better chance of having your appeal go through if it is just the facts.

eBay tip of the day:

Writing reviews and guides is a great way to drive more traffic to your store. The reviews and guides section of eBay is actually keyword searchable on google. The more guides you write the more likely you are to be found from Google. If you write articles about your product and not about your policies you will actually generate more traffic

Add more Pictures

eBay tip of the day:

Getting more than one picture on your listing is easier and more affordable than you may think.

If you have picture manager you can add pictures to your listing without paying the listing fees. Open up picture manager and open your listing up in a new window. Drag the picture into your description page, and you are not paying any extra fees! Easy! Or if you don't have picture manager upload your pictures to photobucket.com and use the html link provided for you. Again, no fees for self hosting. Having only one picture in your listing should be a thing of the past. You will find less questions and more sells if you use more pictures.

The email marketing page

Todays eBay Tip:

The email marketing newsletter is THE key to repeat business if using eBay tools. The basic store offers more emails than you would probably ever need, 5000 a month, and is a great way to get a fan base started.

Some cool sales I have seen are:

Anniversary Sale: free shipping

Two for Tuesday:buy two get free shipping

eBays Birthday: Buy two get one free

National Ham Sandwich Day: get half off of your second purchase if you ate a ham sandwich today

Any reason is great. Your emails should be brief and to the point.

Wording on your description page

Todays eBay Tip:

Remember that most of the time you have about three seconds of reading on your description page. It's important to catch your buyers attention and not waste it on mundane information. If you have too much information at the beginning and not enough pictures, your buyer WILL NOT read the rest.

Seperate your description page with upclose pictures of the product to keep your readers attention for the rest of your text

eBay tip of the day:
Selling Manager Pro is the one eBay tool that is worth the money.

If you haven't tried the Selling Manager Pro template it is definitely my favorite eBay tool. It allows you to make edits on your listings in bulk, relist items quickly and get your sales view at a glance. I like the email marketing program, the markdown manager tool is great when it is working properly, and you can easily customize it to show only what you need to see.

If you haven't tried Selling Manager Pro. I highly recommend it.

eBay tip of the Day

Detailed Seller Ratings:

The Stars that are now a part of the feedback may soon come to be a big part of the eBay shopping experience. Starting now in the UK the auctions will be displayed by best DSR scores first. In particular, the best shipping experience first.

This is the time before the new year starts to get your DSR scores up as high as you can. There may be some great things coming for those who have high scores in this area.

eBay has mentioned that they really want to increase the incentives to the good sellers. And as eBay feels these Detailed Seller Ratings are the best thing yet to determine good sellers, I would highly recommend getting these scores up quickl
